IN THE BEGINNING…

August 2025 marked the moment when three artists — Ché, Mac, and Jared — chose to build something greater than themselves. What began as a shared spark became a collective pursuit: to craft work rooted in truth, imagination, and community. From that intention, our theatre group rose—an evolving home for artists, dreamers, and storytellers seeking connection and possibility.

The Founders

    Ché Escayg (left) first arrived in New York in the fall of 2016 with one of his closest friends, Jared Sepaugh, to pursue his dream of acting. After completing two years at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts, he braved the cold winds of the concrete jungle to continue his artistic journey. A lifelong lover of theatre, not only as an art form but as a craft, he has spent years refining his technique under the guidance of Kyle Fabel at The Actor’s Gym, where he also met one of his favorite collaborators, Mac Stevenson.

    An actor, writer, and director, Ché has grown increasingly disillusioned with the limitations of the mainstream theatre world. His passion now lies in creating something new, work that challenges convention, embraces authenticity, and redefines what theatre can be.

  • Secretary || Co-Founder

    Mac Stevenson (middle) landed in NYC in 2017 to follow her her curiosity about this whole “actor’s journey” at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts. Somewhere between a pandemic and a pile of scripts at Kyle Fabel’s “Actor’s Gym,” she crossed paths with Ché Escayg and Jared Sepaugh — soon-to-be partners in theatrical crime.

    An actor, producer, mover, and certified groover, Mac lives for bold expression — whether it’s on stage, in motion, or through a very obnoxious outfit. She’s over the moon to join Apotheosis and help create an inclusive, electric space where artists can really play.

    Jared Sepaugh (right) — “I’ve been passionate about acting since childhood, but it truly became my calling in high school, where I met my best friend, Chè. Acting, to me, is the power to reveal our shared humanity — to help people connect, no matter their background.

    Chè and I moved to New York to pursue our dreams, where I studied at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts (AADA) and later at the New York Film Academy (NYFA). After a short time in Los Angeles, I returned to New York — the place that always felt like home.

    Balancing work, classes, and auditions hasn’t been easy, but those challenges inspired the creation of Apotheosis. Our goal is to make theatre accessible again — a space where young and upcoming artists can create, grow, and bring powerful stories to life.”
